Social Life

If you are hoping to experience great night life while you are studying then Royal Holloway may not be the place for you.

While the university likes to use its full name as ‘Royal Holloway University of London’, its main campus is in Egham and certainly not in London.  And the night life of Egham bears no resemblance to that of London either.

Egham and Englefield Green are small residential communities and many of the locals would like it to stay that way.  But don’t take our word for it: in Amberstudent’s albeit unscientific survey of the UK universities with the worst social life, Royal Holloway came 7th.

If a great social life is important to you then you may want to consider the University of Surrey which is less than 13 miles away, easily outranks Royal Holloway in the Times Higher Education World Rankings and boasts a great social life for students both on campus and in the nearby city centre:
