Post 17 | 100 Gnats Future & Ben Spencer MP
We have written to RHUL’s new Principal Julie Sanders requesting a meeting with her to discuss student ASB. A copy of the letter can be found here.
During the course of this campaign the student ASB debate has opened up a number of other conversations with regard to RHUL’s impact on the community. These include parking, HMOs as well as the more recent phenomena of large purpose built student accommodation developed by private companies. EG The Garage, Harvest Road, Englefield Green.
So what is the future of the 100 Gnats campaign as it comes to a close?
It has been suggested that a new single issue Residents’ Association be formed to take up these RHUL related problems on behalf of all local residents in order to protect the carefully balanced ecosystems of Egham & Englefield Green before it is too late.
Would members of this group be interested in supporting this idea?
If it is of interest, please WhatsApp me directly by Sunday 12th February so we can plan the next step.
Finally, Ben Spencer MP is meeting RHUL this month. If you want to send him an email raising any concerns you might have about RHUL’s impact on the community, now would be a perfect time. His email is: ben.spencer.mp@parliament.uk
Best wishes,
A Gnat
