We thought we would let you know that the Summer Ball is taking place tomorrow.

Noise From The Ball
If you are impacted by Noise from the ball, by all means contact the numbers that Royal Holloway’s Student Union is promoting and they may very well be able to assist. However, my personal experience from a couple of years ago was that they won’t and you will be disappointed. Please see Post 34 for more details:

Instead, please report any excessive Noise by using our email procedure for reporting ASB. This ‘capture all’ procedure will ensure that the incident is recorded correctly and be used for future decision making. Please see the procedure near the bottom of this page:

We don’t recommend that you call RBC unless you have no other option. Yes, this number is manned 24/7 and they can record the incident but they will not be able to provide you a resolution until the next working day. And by phoning, your incident may not be recorded and you may not receive an incident number. Email is best.
Noise/ ASB In The Street
If you are impacted by Noise/ ASB in the street from, say, students returning home then, again, please use the procedure above.
Noise/ ASB From A House
If you are impacted by Noise/ ASB from a house, from students hosting an after-party for example, again please use the procedure above.

Reporting incidents to the correct authority will help lead to the authorities having a better understanding of this event’s impact on the community. Calling the Summer Ball Event’s Team or Campus Security will not.
